Myrtle Beach - Hard Rock Theme Park

The Hard Rock Park will be a 140-acre rock 'n' roll theme park located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The park will be located between Highway 501 and the Intercoastal Waterway.

The new Hard Rock Theme Park Preview Center opened its door to the public at 8 AM on April 18, 2007, with an exciting sneak peek at pleasures to come, and ending with a jammin' great concert. Myrtle Beach has much to look forward to in Spring 2008 when the party never ends.

The Park will be divided into several zones. Among these are the British Invasion, Lost in the 70's, Born in the USA and Cool Country.

Rides and buildings are arriving and being constructed daily and visitors can have a look at some of the new construction.

Along with the expected Hard Rock Memorabilia there is "Mount RockMore", a 3-story tall sand sculpture featuring the faces of John Lennon, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, and Jimi Hendrix.

Highly anticipated rides include an infinite number of roller coasters. Led Zepplin The Ride, the signature ride of the Hard Rock Park, soars along the track to Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" blaring from a built in sound system in each car. A unique coaster, Maximum RPM! Roadster Coaster will lift you to the track in a Ferris wheel design. Slippery When Wet is a splashy, suspended coaster. In Cool Country, scream your eyes out in a scary ghost-train that flings you through an abandoned sawmill. This Southern Rock Coaster can only be found in Myrtle Beach.

Other rides include The Magic Mushroom Garden, a Spinning Ride with the world's largest black light poster and a giant water playground called Reggae River Falls.

Among the different areas in the park, visitors will find a variety of restaurants. Rockabilly BBQ will feature Chicken and Ribs and The Taste of Paradise Grill promises to be a nice place to sit, relax and eat. There will be "Love Shack" Snacks where we can "get together". These are just of few of the tasty treats planned for the Hard Rock Theme Park.

The Hard Rock Park Amphitheater is being built and is expecting various performers throughout the season along with a special events lawn for outdoor concerts. Other ongoing shows include a live diving and cycle show, The Malibu Beach Party.

Myrtle Beach can't wait to be home to the first Hard Rock Theme Park and we learn a little more each day about what to expect in '08.

The Hard Rock close at the end of the 2008 season. In 2009 the park reopened under new ownership with a new name and format...FreeStyle Music Park.
